Definition: com∙mis∙sion │ kǝ’miSHǝn │ Matthew 28:19
1. An instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people.
2. A group of people officially charged with a particular function.
Verb:
1. To give an order for or to authorize the production of (something such as a building, piece of equipment, or work of art).
2. The warrant or certificate by which certain higher-ranking officers are appointed.
I. We are commissioned to the ‘ministry of reconciliation.’ 2 Corinthians 5:18-20
A. Our commission is to:
1. Call others. Revelation 22:17
2. Proclaim freedom in Jesus! John 8:36
B. Our response is to celebrate the life that is Christ Jesus our Lord! Acts 13:47-49
C. Jesus has all authority and has given us authority. Luke 10:17-20
II. Our weapons are from, of, and for Him! Acts 17:28a

a. For the benefit of others. 1 Thessalonians 3:6-10
b. Are mighty in God. 2 Corinthians 10:4
c. Are effective. James 5:16b
