1. An instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people.

2. A group of people officially charged with a particular function.

Verb:

1. To give an order for or to authorize the production of (something such as a building, piece of equipment, or work of art).

2. The warrant or certificate by which certain higher-ranking officers are appointed.

I. We are commissioned to the ‘ministry of reconciliation.’ 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

A. Our commission is to:

1. Call others. Revelation 22:17

2. Proclaim freedom in Jesus! John 8:36

B. Our response is to celebrate the life that is Christ Jesus our Lord! Acts 13:47-49

C. Jesus has all authority and has given us authority. Luke 10:17-20

II. Our weapons are from, of, and for Him! Acts 17:28a

“for in Him we live and move and have our being…”

A. They are not earthly! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

1. Boldness and courage are from the Lord. Acts 4:31

a. It’s according to God’s will. Ephesians 3:11

b. In Christ Jesus we have access to boldness with confidence. Ephesians 3:12

c. We need it all. Ephesians 6:10-20

B. Our weapon is not constrained. Philippians 1:12-14

1. Though afflicted, our weapons are:

a. For the benefit of others. 1 Thessalonians 3:6-10

b. Are mighty in God. 2 Corinthians 10:4

c. Are effective. James 5:16b
